How to track remittance fees before you send

Before you send money home, list every fee line item: service charge, partner margin, and any convenience add-on. Ask the counter for the all-in peso payout rather than only the send amount.

Keep a simple spreadsheet with date, corridor (e.g., UAE → PH), amount sent, fees, and amount received. Over a quarter you will see which channel is truly cheapest—not just which poster advertises “lowest fee.”

  • Confirm whether the rate is locked at send or at pickup.
  • Note ID requirements to avoid a second trip.
  • Save receipts until the beneficiary confirms pickup.
